Seeking a piece of real estate with a slice of Hollywood history? A historic Spanish-style home once owned by Madonna just landed on the market for $21 million. Known as Castillo Del Lago, the 10,513-square-foot Hollywood Hills home was built in 1926 by architect John DeLario and boasts views of Lake Hollywood and the then-new Hollywood sign. Reportedly, mobster Bugsy Siegel used the landmarked property to run a gambling den in the 1930s.
Records show that the seller is fashion designer Leon Max of Max Studio. According to Mansion Global, the Queen of Pop paid $5 million for the nine-bedroom and six-bathroom pad back in 1993 and sold it in 1996. During her ownership, the “Ray of Light” singer enlisted her brother, interior designer Christopher Ciccone to design the property. "Who could I have more in common with than someone I grew up with?" Madonna told AD during a 1991 tour of her Upper West Side apartment, which Ciccone also designed. (During the same tour, the musician also iconically proclaimed, “I can use my fax machine and look at my Picasso at the same time.”)
